What is black hat or unethical SEO?

A:
In a world where are good guys and bad guys it is much the same on the Internet. We can distinguish the good guys or white hat ethical SEO practitioners from the bad guys using black hat unethical SEO techniques. It is clear that black hat SEO practitioners are trying to cheat search engines in order to get high rankings and make profit. Usually and most of the time black hat SEO techniques are easily spotted by the more and more advanced search engine algorithms and those websites are being penalized for their unethical approach to fool search engines.

Black hat SEO techniques are good for the short run and are too risky as the money invested might not be beneficial for the investor. Some of the most used black hat SEO techniques are page cloaking, use of link farms, duplicate content, spamming keywords in Meta tags and linking to bad neighborhood.
