What KEI stands for?
A:
KEI is the acronym for Keyword Effectiveness Indicator or Keyword Efficiency Index which is a ranking value taking in consideration
how often a keyword term is searched and the level of competition it has on the internet. Thus, a higher KEI value suggests a
popular keyword which has low competition and it has greater chances to get high ranked in SERPs opposed to a low KEI value when
competition is very high and searches for that term are very low being unworthy to optimize for search engines. The Keyword
Efficiency Index (KEI) is calculated on a logarithmic scale with results ranging from 0 - 10 and its main purpose is to give a more
exact view of how efficient a keyword term would be in a particular theme.
Whenever a competitive keyword research is made, you can not rely
fully on the KEI indicator as it might have a higher value but the top competitors would be too big for you to compete with. It is
helpful for many webmasters and should be considered only after all other keyword competitiveness aspects have been considered.
