Should all of my web pages be optimized?

A:
The answer is 'Yes'. One of the most common misconceptions is that many think that the most important page of a website is the index or home page which is a totally wrong conception. You have to keep in mind that search engines are ranking separate pages and not websites as many people think.

Each page can be individually optimized for a specific keyword term but it is important to maintain the relevancy and theme overall the whole website. By optimizing each page individually for specific terms chances are greater to get high rankings and more entry points for your website.

Still, there are a few exceptions with a few pages which main scope is not to get them ranked in any of the search engines. Here is a list of the most common pages which should not be optimized for niche keywords: 'About us', 'Privacy policy', 'Terms and conditions' and 'Contact us'.
