The launch of Google's Pay-per-Action beta test
Mar 26, 2007
Today Google has launched its Pay-per-Action PPA beta test which is much the same like affiliate networks are working.
Advertisers will have a greater flexibility in using this new system in which they can determine what actions are they expecting
from their surfers like newsletter sign-up sale or any other clearly defined actions and only if those are met they will be charged
by Google.
Google is taking care of accurately monitoring those conversions by using special tracking code on the advertiser's website.
Publishers will be paid only when visitors click and complete one of the predefined actions but the pay-off will be expected to be
more than the CPC commissions, said Rob Kniaz, product manager for Google's ad products.
Google has been testing several forms of this pay-per-action model since June last year and now advertisers and publishers can
signup to participate and experiment while Google is continuously sending out invitations to test this service.
Selecting individual ads is available for AdSense users and the new ad units are separate from CPC and Google ads offers.
Publishers are able to review the advertisers' offer before agreeing to show the ads on their sites.
Advertisers can create ads using texts images as well as Google's new text link ad format creating short text descriptions which
will appear in the publisher's page style format.
