Reduce Googlebomb Impact - Algo update
Googlebombs have been known for many years but at Google didn't pay too much attention to them and never considered as of high priority until now.
Today there are almost one hundred widely known Googlebombs like “miserable failure„ as a good example.
What are Googlebombs actually?
To make ourselves as clear as possible by Googlebomb also known as 'linkbomb' we understand the following:
When someone attempts to hurt somebody else's website by making it rank for obscene keyword terms. As after implementing the
new algo update now even George Bush can relax as the White House main website doesn't rank in the top any more for the term
'miserable failure'.
Google has emphasized that their new algorithm which eliminates these googlebomb pranks is run automatically without any human
intervention. Of course this new algorithm is not 100 percent accurate but is greatly and effectively minimizing the negative
impact Googlebombs had caused.
Among the many Googlebombs the most famous was that of Bush with the 'miserable failure' and it started in 2003 when a
massively spread message was underway saying: Let's get everyone to link to http://www.whitehouse.gov/president/gwbbio.html
with the words “Miserable Failure„
The campaign got successful as hundreds of links pointed to the bio US president's page with the given term thus making it rank
Nr. 1 in the SERPs.
