'keyword'
A term or phrase used in a query. When people are searching for something they are typing keywords or phrases in search engine boxes.
Website owners try to optimize their pages for the keywords which best describe their products or services as well as terms which
are used by surfers when looking for something.
'keyword density'
It is a percentage value calculated with a formula in which total number of keywords is divided with the total number of words on a
particular web page. The keywords are those for which the webpage should get ranked in the search engines. The keyword density is
calculated by the search engines in order to easier determine what topic that page is all about. Usually it is advisable to keep
the keyword density below 10% otherwise it might be considered keyword stuffing which means an artificially increased keyword
density and get banned by search engines.
'keyword stuffing'
When keywords are repeated too many times with the scope to artificially inflate keyword density and finally get high ranked in
major search engines. This technique can be very easily detected by search engines and the pages will get penalized.
'keyword focused content page (KFCP)'
This term was coined by Ken Evoy an expert in creating search engine friendly web pages. Keyword focused content pages are the
landing or doorway pages specially created to rank high for certain keyword terms.
